I actually created the thread as a sarcastic way of poking fun at two post wh*r*s who were circulating posts in every thread.
See the first post. It was prolly out of shame that those folks made just a few posts to this thread. I'll leave these two truly shameless to be nameless.
On the other hand, a group of loonies started making off the planet posts to the thread. Originally, I had not planned to make any posts here. If you check out the first pages, I didn't make a follow up post until about page 5 after the thread had become much too hilarious to resist. Soon, we were on to the SPBT's first catch phrase, "That'll fly as far as a crap filled frisbee."
There were some post hounds who posted here ostensibly to increase post counts, but the irony of the thread is that post counts don't really matter in the SOHC/4 forums. We've got some SOHC super-geniuses who barely come in as "experts." On the other hand/paw/fin, we've got some "masters," myself included, who sometimes need help after screwing up the repair. There is more irony in the fact that the members who don't read this thread think that the thread is merely a means to boost counts.

By the way, to say that this thread has "taken on a life of its own" would be to insult all the life on the planet, amoebas included.
