Carbs: Yoshimura TMR MJN needle kit available for std TMR?
« on: October 19, 2018, 11:45:46 pm »
I have read the article about Yoshimura TMR-MJN carbs and how good they are. The needle full of holes that spray the fuel better into the intake.
http://www.bikebros.co.jp/vb/sports/sfeat/yoshimura-carburetor-en/

Those carbs are based on the Mikuni TMR. I have TMR32 on my bike. They work great and are soon almost perfectly jetted.
I have searched for upgrade kits to MJN but have not found any.

- Anyone seen any upgrade?

The Yoshimura carb cost a lot so they might not sell the important parts cheap either.

We used the MJN kits in roadracing CBR 600's in the late 90's early 2000's. They worked OK....not a killer difference on the track. I like the video showing charge going both ways at higher RPM,s   ;D ;D

I use a TMR on my Triumph Cub Bonneville Racer set up for a 2-stroke snowmobile...........the jet extends about a half-inch into the throat.  Longer intake runners will greatly reduce the harmonic/closed-valve backward flow of the air/fuel.......as will any sort of forced or induced air pressure from the air-cleaner. I think the EPA would ban the carburetor if they saw this video  ;)

I see them spit out at lower RPM but I think the fog effect is just very humid air reacting to the low pressure.

I think the the bore and stroke /valve overlap of a large cc single doesn't help either.
