« on: January 17, 2007, 07:56:36 PM »
Just browsing threads on ring intallation, I am not positive which of the two rings goes on top? I didnt know there was a diffrence between the top two, looking at them they look to be basically the same, does it matter? Thanks again

If yhe rings are new one will be silver coloured and is the top ring, the second ring is black.

NOTE:- ANY markings on the rings (usually close to the ring end gap) faces upwards

thanks! brianj, what is the actual diffrence in the rings? they dont appear to be much diffrent, without this forum it would be way to easy to get the top two backwards. thanks again!

You cant see it as it is so slight, but the rings are beveled differently too. That why there is a stamp - to orient the bevel.
