New with a CB400f
« on: November 20, 2018, 01:52:28 AM »
So not my first bike build or first little 4cyl.  Way back before I really knew what I was doing I had a cb350f that was bought from an auction for $100.  Got it running, but the cam seized, then I don't remember where it ended up.  Now 15 years later I was given a cb400f.  It sat outside in washington for years with no clutch cover, and no starter motor.  Probably 1/2 gallon of water came out when I pulled the sump.  Surprisingly other than a broken starter clutch the bottom end is ok.  The clutch needs replacement, and the cam and a few rockers got hit by rust.

Now I'm a machinist and recently finished building an xs650, rephased with EFI, modern suspension etc.  Only things I didn't do myself were powder the frame, lace the wheels and bore the cylinders.

So a pic of the CB as picked up, the crank cleaned, and my last build.

Welcome from Lake Superior,

It looks like you are on the correct track to get it running.
