Campbell's X pipe-Any good

Has anyone heard of or used one of these. The claims are pretty amazing but sound kind of fishy(no rejetting, doesn't use scavenging for extra power. If I remember right the purpose of an Xpipe on cars is for more scavenging. One cylinder(or bank of cylinders)pulse helps pull the others through.)

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I would do a lot of independent research outside of what this person and the "testimonials" claims before making a decision, as you have already begun by asking on this forum. 

Whatever you do decide, don't buy from this person.  They are not a reputable seller.

If they are that good why are they auctioning them off ?.  They should have a waiting list for them.

Actually men, I believe that the product is quite good. The problem is that the seller, Monty, who is also the designer/manufacturer, has no people skills, so he tends to get the #$%*s when people demand that he "prove" to them that his X pipes actually work.

I read a similar thread on another bike forum (The GS Resources) where some "tool" took it upon himself to demand that Monty Campbell explain why "he" should buy one, but instead Monty explained why "he" was a dickhead. Sean Condon has just bought one for his bike, and I'm very tempted to buy one myself.

It's funny isn't it, how if a pipe looks cool we just buy it, but if it offers any claims of "performance" advantage over anything else, we immediately question it? Maybe Monty should just say that they look cool? ha ha, Cheers, Terry. 8)

Vance and Hines used them on their Prostock bikes in the very early 80's.

Hey Terry, thanks for the heads up on the GS Resources site!  Ive owned my 82 GS1100e for a year now and have searched and searched for a good info page on these great bikes and somehow missed it.  What GS do you own?  Sorry to hi-jack ;D

G'Day Mate, I've got a 1979 GS750 and a 1981 GS1000S, and in pieces I have a 1979 GS1000S and a 1980 GS1000E. You're right, they are fantastic bikes, real classic "Muscle-Bikes". I also make oil cooler adapters for these bikes, if you need one. Cheers, Terry. 8)

I am going to resurrect this bad boy..

Does that thing have ANY baffles in it..

I will have to say the idea of NOT being able to scrape the pipes is very appealing.. but if it is going to be obnoxious.. then nevermind.. BTW.. it seems easy enough for anyone to MAKE at home..

BTW.. crossover pipes have been proven to work on cars and trucks.. don't see why it wouldn't on a bike..

EDIT: I see the MX-3 system has canisters.. and the MX-1 is a drag system.. anyone ever seen the MX-3 kit with the canisters?
