I recently acquired this dragster on a trade. I am planning on restoring it and driving it. I would like to find out as much information as I can. It looks like a dragster build in the 70's by David Brackett. Any information would be appreciated!

Me and a buddy almost bought this dragster just to mess around with. The hole in the valve cover really drove me away as I didn't know how long it sat like that or how it happend. Excited to see what comes next!

Haha! That was one of the first things I saw and thought too. Looks like it was from an external blow snapping the bolt off rather than from inside. Not being a CB750 guy I was impressed when i took off the rocker box and saw how those threaded bosses were welded in place from the inside to hold the camshaft towers down. It should be an easy fix. Fingers crossed.

It’s not likely a crazy fire breathing race engine since it is still running the factory carbs.  You can check if the throats were bored out.  Likely a 736-836 range.  But who knows.

Yes the cam towers support modified cam cover is interesting.  Usually they are welded on the outside of the threaded bungs.  Hopefully that section snapped its weld while he engine was just sitting there not running.
