Idiot with a 650
« on: March 16, 2019, 08:22:45 AM »
So this would be my first bike, probably a poor choice but I enjoy it so far. Purchased it non running from a buddy of mine last year, spent pretty much all summer trying to get it rideable again and I was obv over my head but I'm stubborn and like to do things myself. Did the starter clutch and got lucky finding a NOS case on eBay because mine was destroyed, then spent a #$%* load of time with running issues. Cleaned the carbs plenty of times, to discover it was the carbs AND ignition so I replaced it with a C5 ignition. (It's #$%*ing great in case you wanted to know) and that solved all that and got it riding. Got my feet wet riding a few times before the winter hit and I'm hooked. Currently pulling the top end apart to reseal it and hopefully get some headwork done if I can hear back from anyone.
It's an 80' CB650, tl1000 forks, clip on, Mac 4-1, pods because obv, some yahmaha seat slapped on, cb450 tank? Maybe? Idfk with some silver duplicolor custom wrap to cover up the "patina"

Anyway, here's some pictures of my junk (the bike kind of junk don't worry)

And here's a couple of the motor pulled apart lol
Honestly not bad at all to pull apart. Just waiting on parts and such now.

Been enjoying the fantastic wether on a mini vacation so no work has been done on my bike sadly
