Oops! Forgot something.
« on: March 16, 2019, 09:39:04 AM »
Finishing up a 750 refurbish.  Just got back all the painted parts, which look gorgeous!  While trying to remount the headlight bucket, I discovered that I misplaced/lost the two headlight mount collars, part number 61302-300-000, used on 69 through 76 750's.  See item 13 in attached diagram.

I'd like to avoid the EBay price of $18 each!  If I were any kind of machinist, I could probably make them for a couple of dollars.  Hoping that a forum member has a couple collecting dust they wouldn't mind parting with. Of course I'm willing to pay.  Thanks

John

How about finding a piece of metal tubing the right size and cutting two pieces off?

You can get a complete set for less from Yamiya750. Shipping and ev customs on top of that,

Then add everything you else your bike wants! ;) :-)
If the rim around headlight is bad, DSS sell a complete aftermarket set for not that much.

4into1 or Z1 parts. I've bought a kit of screws and bushings.

Don't have them but would just add that those and part #15 are pretty important if you don't want to crack the headlight bucket. IF you've got a salvage place nearby they might be littered with them -- in the yard in Phoenix plastic disintegrates in the sun and the guys at the yard just give them away if you need them.

oops I was thinking of these.

The ones he needs do not have that collar, they are just a 'tube'. The collar one go where the screws hold the chrome headlight ring.

Good news! I managed to get what I needed.  Just to be clear, they are the non-collared metal spacers that fits into the winker stem hole on each side of the headlight bucket.  Many thanks to all for your feedback.
