who in the east wants to plan a ride
« on: January 24, 2007, 04:20:38 PM »
Not a long ride mind you. A weekend deal, ok, maybe a long weekend :)

Sometime this Spring, I prefer the mountains because it has less traffic generally.

Or maybe mountains to the coast ride and back, (something involving good seafood :))

anyone interested?

I wouldn't be against it...  Although I'm near Nashville, TN.  So maybe trailer the cb650 out to a meeting point farther east?

We'll see who's interested and maybe pick a point in between us all
to saddle up.

I got to get out to Nashville sometime soon to look up some old family
burial grounds.

Bump.

Or a ride to the Tail of the Dragon.

We are planning three bikes for Dragons Tail this spring. Working on a definite date.
Contact me for affordable rotor drilling services at $55 each rotor. Same day service on CB750/CB500/CB550 rotors. Next day on everything else.

Hmm, I'd love to go on the Tail but I'm afraid I'm not ready for it yet.  Unless you guys would want to slow down by about 20mph, that is  ;D

Hey Dan, don't worry about that, first time through we'll all be slow.
Second time same, it would take a while to learn that monster :)

The Gap is very very tight, most sane riders don't get much above 35MPH for most of the run.
If your group is planning a trip this spring you all might consider 16-20 May timeframe. Those are the dates for the annual 2-stroke meet at the Gap. The meet draws over 100 vintage bikes. Most are 2-stroke Suzukis, Kawasakis and Yamahas, but a good number of other vintage bikes show. Every room at the Gap motel is booked by a vintage bike owner, as is many other rooms in the area. It is a low key gathering of folks who love old bikes.
