It doesn't much matter for exact size, and I expect most originals are beyond measuring by now. I used a piece of scotchbrite cut to roughly fit when I had the stock airbox. This is not a filter per se, it is supposed to condense oil vapor from the engine blowby to reduce clogging up the real air filter. My original foam disintegrated within a year or two.
