Tail Light Bracket Ideas
« on: May 07, 2019, 07:55:23 AM »
Hey guys,
I'm trying to decide how to mount the tail light on my build and am wondering what some of you guys have done. I added a frame hoop for a brat style seat. I'd like to add a tail light similar to this (http://airtech-streamlining.com/images/HLR12~1.jpg). Ideally, I'd like a bracket to attach under the frame hoop, but don't want it to be a style that wraps around the frame tubing.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, weld a threaded tab under the hoop to inside.
Or drill into hoop, then weld threaded sleeves In. If they have a flange, easier to weld.

I was hoping there was some kind of bracket made for the hoops since I do not actually have a welder. I'll probably end up hauling it to my friend's place and use his welder and add a tab as you suggested.

The strongest you can be is to weld something on. .
Don't let poor planning get in the way of well built.
 Is it painted already.

The problem with rivnuts or tapping they are all sort of in one line, a triangle or square mounting system is better once that weight starts bouncing around..

It is painted, but it was just a rattle can job on the frame hoop i added, so I'm okay with touching it up. I'm not building a show bike.
