What am I missing here?  I did not take photos when I took off the rotors, but the speedo piece was in there some how.  Looking at another single rotor wheel, it seems to need  a piece with the corresponding slots to make the speedo rotate. Have I lost a piece?

Outside right with tube on bottom. It clicks in and the spacer on the axle keeps it in place. First wheel pic should be it. The spacer on the speedo housing fits inside for it to line up.

OK, I read that 4 times and get most of it.

It does indeed slip into one side, sorry for the confusion there, but there is nothing there for it to grab hold of to make the inside spin?

I'm including the only photo I have before tearing it down.

Derek,

Check your email for a front wheel diagram. Much easier for me to send emails than downsize pix and attach here. Which one of the buttons above do you use to add a link to Photobucket?

No button. you just copy the bottom html from your photobucket pic. and paste it where you would normally be typing on the forum box

RxmanGrif Still looking at pdf you sent.
So am I missing #3?  I assume #2 is replaced with my 2nd rotor?

In the reply mode, click on this icon and insert the photobucket HTML string between the delimiters.

SOMEWHERE in my garage is a speedo drive assembly. SOMEWHERE! I found my hub at least. I BELIEVE (less than 99.9% sure and other key words are capitalized) the top "tab" on #3 (gear box retainer) fits over the flat spot on the hub and the notched recesses on it's outer "lip" line up inside the speedo gear box #7. EUREKA, well almost. Not giving up. Found the other pieces but the gear box is still MIA. YES!! All the pieces. Disclaimer: both sets I have (on bike 75 750F & spare) are SIMILAR to the picture but #3 does not have the tab that bends toward the hub. They have 2 tabs that fit under and are held in place by the chrome retainer cover #2. ANYWAY, the protruding part of #3 has 2 notches on it that fit over 2 tabs inside the gear box.

Do any of my ramblings make sense>

Bob,
I didn't think us old guys knew this fancy technology as well as you. Thanks. HTML string & delimiters! I'm pretty impressed. Guess I must be the old guy now  ;)

Not sure?   Are you saying I do have something missing and you have the parts?

Damn! I can't open photobucket pics from my defence department compuker! And I've got knowledge virtually dripping off me too! Bummer! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Derek,

If you can wait until I get home, (oh, 4 hours or so), I can verify how it assembles.  I believe, from wheel out to the right side, it goes disc, gearbox retainer (the wings go against the wheel), the silver circular metal piece (cover) that holds it to the wheel (the grooves face inside, lock the retainer down, this has hole for the rotor bolts), the paper washer, then the speedo.  See the attached pic:

I do not know how a double disc set up works with that or other wheels. Item #3 gear box retainer in the diagram I emailed turns the speedo gearbox. It is not in any of your pictures. I wish I had a spare but do not.

8 is not needed its just a paper seal to keep grease in.  I probably have those parts in my garage, I'll need to dig, but if I find them, they are yours, the earliest I can look is Thursday night though.  I went w/ a GL front end on mine, using that speedo and such, so I think I still have the 750 ones somewhere.

Had a bit of graphic interface down time. I think I have that sorted now. ;D

Seat came in and I am ecstatic. It is exactly what I wanted. The leather on the corners look grey in the photos but is in fact a perfect match to the cayman skin ;D

Got my bent fork back from 754 and started on a front end mock up. Also received a chrome headlight bucket I bought on line.
I think it looks goofy, unless I add a fairing to this bike, which is a high probability.  What do you think?

Just trying on an old fairing.......Cut way down, it may work????????

Looking good Seaweb 8) That seat's definitely a love it or loathe it thing though :-\ ;)

Painted to match the Tracy body that fairing should look pretty cool ;D

Damn you and your shiny calipers though >:(  I took one look at all those grooves and corners on mine, then chickened out and repainted them, Now the look of yours is making me think maybe I should be getting the paint stripper out ::)
