Brake piston - which way?
« on: July 08, 2019, 08:41:13 AM »
Which side faces the pad, the machined side or the recessed side? Also, please confirm that the nylon washer goes between the pad and the piston.

The machined side, pic#1 goes in the caliper first, so the recessed side on pic#2 goes against the washer that goes against the pad.
And lube just with brakefluid!

i use to put some ATE grease on the piston...it grease the piston part vho are working autside of the  sqvare rubber seal..so no vater and dirt gets inside..brakefluid dont lube ,for long..on the dry aut  side..of the system...those calipers just miss a rubber teighting..like car types have..

Either way get a dental pick in the groove to remove ALL the corrosion and fit a new seal.
