Some of my first attempts at motorcycle wrenching were on a friends used 305 Big Bear scrambler.  De-carbonizing the head, fragile electrics, and fruitless attempts to get the oil injection set properly if memory serves me correctly.  Yamaha has come a long way since the mid 60s.

My first 'big' bike was a 68 or 69 Yamaha YR2 350 that my dad picked up from a local dealer.

We never got it to run quite right. Dad thought it was a YR2C, but that had scrambler pipes and ours had regular low pipes from the road version.

Here's my 75 RD350, super fun to ride but the clip-ons, solid mountings, high spring rates and lack of seat padding make it only enjoyable in small dosages.

I just bought a couple r5 350s. Im thinking about using one of the engines to power my ct70. A 2 stroke 350 powered mini bike could be fun

That would be a 2 stroke flux capacitor,  might take you back to your childhood...........or way past death. It's a crapshoot for sure!

Started this thing up yesty after a couple of months sitting idle.
Started 3rd kick but I think if I left it another few seconds for the fuel to reach the carbies it would have started first kick.
A quick 20 minute ride then some tlc  and a detail with in an inch of its life.

Looks much better than my telephone piccy.

Thanks emlupi.

What annoyed me was it was covered in tiny black and red dots that I couldn't even see
because i was spray painting nearby. My daughter who's into painting and has eyes that work properly
pointed it out. A couple of hours of gentle cutting got rid of them .
Should have know better.
