Did a quick swing by my sister's yesterday to check out the bike. Its interesting. I'll talk to George, my BIL, about selling the headlight setup and the seat, which is in good shape. The full airbox is in place. It's a shame the exhaust looks like crap because it would be worth keeping. The paint is interesting, but cracked and probably not worth saving.

 My wife would be comfy on that seat. She, however would never get on a bike that had it. Makes me take the bags off the gl before riding with me on it. I guess I know how to leave her home now.

I didn't have a lot of time to look it over. But I think that it is in better shape than it appears. It needs a good wash to get the grime off. I thought the rims were rusty beyond use, but now I think that it is mostly surface rust and I should be able to use them. I will post a few more pictures in a while after I make them smaller.

Here is the exhaust. The muffler is interesting, it appears to be basically straight pipes with a shell to look like a single muffler.

Great score! The fun of putting a "free" bike back on the pavement is one I think every wrench should get to do, at least once. It feels SO good!

in between the free bikes to get running again and put em on the pavement, they're getting rare. so "any" lawnmower that's on the curb on trash day, i'll drag them home to get that good feeling, which isn't quite the same but a little bit of fire to remember what it's like, keeps the fire smoldering a little bit. you'd be surprised on the models i find, that some minor thing was not working right, full tank of gas, bag, front or rear wheel drive, it's crazy.
