cb500 clicking noise revisited
« on: August 05, 2019, 04:26:43 AM »
Good morning all. I have figured out what my clicking noise is. The center stand is hitting the chain when in its upright position. Anyone ever hear of this? I don't see where there is any adjustment to make it not go up so far. You would think there would be a stop on the frame or swing arm. Didn't see one. Let me know please. Thanks.

That's because there used to be a rubber stop, fitted to a little bracket underneath OEM exhaust #1. #19 in: https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb500k1-four-european-direct-sales_model14661/partslist/F14.html#.XUgUUkdcJVc

Ok thanks. I have a 4 into 1 aftermarket exhaust on the bike. That makes sense. Thanks again. I'll make a stop bracket.

Like I said in the 3rd post here:

You can make an L shaped bracket out of flat stock. Or search Ebay for "center stand stop".

Let's use the original thread, please.
