cb500 1971 issue
« on: August 24, 2019, 09:10:02 AM »
Hello
cb500 1971 2000km after total rebuilt by Honda profesional
the bike stay in garage cause of bad coils..
The owner bought new coils and brought me the bike to give her life again..
So i renew the oils filters etc..set the contact points, valve clearance, strobe light test and finally synchro the carbs..
Btw i cleaned the carbs althought all the jets was open and the carbs very clean inside..
the bike revs till 7000 without problem on standing..but when u put gear and u drive her its not..it can go till 3000 and with a bad way..
From my experience i feel no gas going to the pistons..
All  the carbs has enough gas as the bike can idle even to 900rpm.
The only thing i notice was that the main jet oring was not giving almost nothing resistance when i was trying to insert the jet on the carb..
i will renew that orings first thing monday morning..
Does anyone had the same problem?
Can this oring cause this problem?
Thanks for the replies in advance

Daichi condenser s are often bad out of the box when new!  A brand to steer clear of...many cheap points and condensers carried by variousbike shops are Daichi. They have a three pointed petal circle logo.  They make parts in China and in Japan.  For the SOHC bikes they are a badly engineered product.
