I wish folks would stop messin' with float levels ! The float level for your bike is 26mm. Measure this way; hold the carb bank sideways with bowls removed, i.e. carb bowl to body join is vertical . Float pin in upper position so that floats are free to 'swing' back and forth as you tilt the carb bank to the left or right. Now tilt the carbs slightly to the right of vertical so as the float 'tabs' are resting against the float valve lightly. The distance between the carb body/bowl  join surface and the top of the float needs to be 26mm. If not, carefully bend the 'tab' that sits against the float valve to make it 26mm. Easier to do if ahead of time you measure 26 mm on an old credit card and cut it in an 'L' shape as a guide and write '26mm' on it for a forever gauge ! Next, remove the float and polish any 'dimple' on the face of the tab until it's smooth. Re-assemble and your done forever with floats !! :o
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,
If your sure it's an ignition problem; it's carbs....

Good idea to take off the carbs and check their status.
You need to take off each carb from rack to remove the needles and see how they are set. I tried not to on my K6 carbs without success.
Remove all jets and see if they are drilled by PO, emulsifiers tubes too. (Do not tighten theses too hard, or in wrong direction when you want to remove them)
