emgo stators any good from taiwan?
« on: October 01, 2019, 09:05:32 AM »
do they follow the reputation of made in taiwan cheap no lastie long time parts? it says it causes cancer, and reproductive harm, but only if it produces 14 or 15 volts for a few years, then i'd say the cancer's a fair exchange.

Bad stators are pretty rare and used stators aren't hard to come by. Personally, if I had a bad stator I would just buy a used one.

Have not used the alternator. Taiwan stuff is typically better than Chinese but there is quality chinese stuff.  Most OEMs outsource stuff to China. They just set the specs on quality.

I don't know about emgo alternators but it will come new connectors and if the alternator rotor is wet, it will come with a new bulkhead barrier plug that can cut down on oil leaks.

Not a fan of EMGO stuff...
I am with Danny, pick up a used stator, much better quality and a known quantity on durability and quality of construction.

Prob ok, but the only Emgo stator I can find is for a DOHC 750 engine. What happened to your original stator? Emgo stuff is not totally predictable but a lot of products are good. Something like a stator with no moving parts or switch contacts... likely good.
