1977 CB750K Newbie - What is this?
« on: October 22, 2019, 06:44:25 AM »
Hello everyone,

Brand new to this forum. Just bought a 77 CB750k as my first attempt restoration project. The previous owner seemed to have started some sort of cafe mod with it but lost interest. The mechanics look original though. Ive spent the last week mapping hoses and sorting what goes where. Cant figure out what this is though (see picture) this pipe sits below and between carbs 2-3. looks to be coming out of the cylinder casing. Is there supposed to be a tube attached? Any information would be appreciated.

Cam Chain tensioner. Other than it seems to be leaking oil, there is nothing wrong.

Scott..... the large rubber boot is covering the single wire that runs to the oil pressure switch, screwed into the main oil gallery. Lift the bigger end and you will see the switch. It sends the ground to your oil dash light.

Scott..... when reading the Factory Manual, you will find the Honda book assumes you know what you are doing. There is also a specific section, at the back, that covers all the updates on you K7.

Sometimes, an aftermarket book can be even more useful, as they explain some things more clearly, with numerous pictures, and even more steps. Most importantly, ask questions here! I’ve been working on my cb750’s for many years, and just about every day, I read about some detail I have always missed! Enjoy!
