Airtech streamlining products

Hey guys. Ive been looking around for cool aftermarket parts for my 78 cb750f build. I came across an interesting aftermarket oil tank/rear fender from a company called airtech streamlining. The link to the part is https://airtech-streamlining.com/honda-fairings-seats-fenders-parts/CB750-STREETTRACKER.htm . The name of the product is CB750DTOT.

At first glance it looks like a cool way to hide the oil tank. The material appears to be some sort of plastic tho which seems like a bad choice of material for an oil tank. Has anyone used this product or any of airtech's products on their builds? Any opinions, thoughts, 2cents welcome.

Airtech has a good rep. I've been looking at a faring from them and I know other owners here have bought from them.

I don't see why fiberglass should be a problem. Oil isn't corrosive like ethynol fuel and I don't think it gets hot enough to damage the tank.

Vibration cracking is more of a problem with smaller tank
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

I used Air Tech fairings for my street 86 Gixxer.  I also got a tail unit for my Hawk GT.  All were very good quality and I did have to drill the holes to mount the stuff, but that was not to hard to do.   I would think the Honda stuff should be the same.

Sorry for the thread jack...Steve K, did you use a mixture of Air Tech fairings and original Suzuki?  Or all Airtech?  I got an 86 slabbie that is about to happen but my aftermarket main fairing fits baaad.

On the GIXXER,  the only body work left was the gas tank and the seat.  I did salvage the thing in front of the belly pan from the broken lower fairing.  Air- Tech, I think sells that part.  ( triangle part in the front).  I also used the single seat tail section. 
It was one of the most fun bike I ever had,  for short periods. (pain after 1 hour, unless the road is curvy)
 
PS I do not recall where I got the windscreen from.  Link at Air-Tech?
PS Used dzux and screws to hold the fiberglass on.

Sean,  I machined the knobs on the clip-ons to raise the bars about 10 mm. Or was it under the triple tree.  I longer have the bike so I cannot check.  I also lowered the  pegs by making new ones by about 3/4 of an inch.  I hated the pegs on the thing, I put spring loaded ones on the replacements.  I still miss it though!
PS the upper fairing mount (metal bracket)I got new from my Suzuki dealer.

Hey thanks Steve_K.  My gsxr is really complete except the original front fairing is badly broken and missing several good chunks.  When I bought it, I hoped to find an original fairing, so that I wouldn't have to repaint.  That seems to be a foolish hope as the few original fairings I have found are in worse shape than mine for big money.  I should probably be diving back into that project relatively soon, after getting side tracked by some quicker and easier projects.  I don't think I want to change the ergo's at this point.  I think being comfortable on any bike is more about learning to position your body and as it is truly one of the first "race replicas", I will enjoy the challenge that racers back then dealt with.

You are right about ergos,  but I live an hour ride from twisty roads that the GIXXER and I love.  Getting there and back was hard, 1 hour on straight  roads coming and going.  I am older and had back surgery.  I sold her a couple years ago.  Age can be a pain. 
Ride yours again and tell us about it.  Not really complaining, because I got a bunch of miles on bikes.

I hear ya and I am certainly not a spring chicken either.  That is partly why I want to ride the gsxr as it is...enjoy it before it's too late. lol

I started a thread on it a while back.  I will certainly update it when I get to riding.  Now that I look back the thread kind of got jacked by my own gs1100e

Hmmm...I think that if I were building a 750 dirt-tracker I would start with the Sump Thing to lower the CG, then lengthen the air intake system to suck from a bigger box up under the seat, lower the battery, remove the starter and plug its hole, rebuild the OEM (pre-1975 style) swingarm with my bronze parts, modify the spark advancer, ...

hijaking my own thread. Is the sumpthing wet sump conversion kit a safe and practical option? It looks pretty cool but I havnt seen many people do this modification on their CB750 builds. Let me know if anyone has any info.
