Custom color to match Jade green off my CB550 tank.
« on: February 16, 2020, 12:32:30 PM »
anyone have any luck getting a color match on it. or have a color code? Looking to have a few custom rattle cans mixed up for the details on the bike and my rear fender.

Went through this a few years ago. The candy colors are really hard to match. And they changed/faded with time, so even if you found a code (which doesn't exist), it probably won't match.
Take the tank to a GOOD painter and see what he says.  Marble Motors can make original candy paint jobs, but the cost is extremely high.

Even something close would be fine I'm just going to build a rat bike and I just wanted the rear fender to be a close shade of green opposed to just being black or bare metal which I can't do cuz my rear fender is full of Bondo

There's a newer Jeep color that's close, but it would be an obvious mismatch next to old, original paint.

Scott could you let me know what this color is. I've got a little bit of patience I can always scuff it and do a little bit of light patina work on it.

I don't remember exactly. Go to the Duplicolor aisle at the auto parts store and see if any of the cans are close. Sorry, it's been about 5 years since I last looked.
