CB350F carburetor air vent connections
« on: March 28, 2020, 04:51:57 PM »
Had a drip at the T that joins the 2 and 3 carb on my 350F. Took of my carbs, and breaking them down for a cleaning, rejetting for altitude (finally), and to put in new o-rings. Lo and behold, forgot about the two air vent joints betwee the 1 and 2 carbs and the 3 and 4 carbs:

 TUBE, FUEL (2.5X16)
TUBE, FUEL (2.5X16)
product number: 16199333004

I ordered the o-ring kits in the US and had a buddy DHL me that and some other mail I needed. So I am here in Mexico City trying to figure out what I can use in place. Any ideas? I actually thought about heat shrink tubing, maybe two thick. Doesn't seem like it needs to be sturdy, just seal the two nipples. Or does it?

Not clear here if you actually installed the T vent connectors or left them out of the rebuild?

If the carbs are not installed back on the bike then removing the carbs from the mounting stays/ brackets will allow you to part them enough to put the vent T’s back into the bodies. You should not have to remove the shafts assemblies to do this.
I recall I needed to do the same thing where one plastic T was not properly seated in the body. I didn’t discover it until I had reassembled the rack into the mounting stays/brackets.
Common sense.....isn't so common!

Disaster/delay averted -- went to Autozone and they had the perfect size fuel line for the vents.

Flyin900 -- on these they aren't Ts, just straight connectors with tubes between the 1/2 and the 3/4 carbs. They vent to atmosphere individually on the inside of the 2 and 3 carbs. The only T is the fuel line, between the 2 and 3 carbs, with straight connections between the 1/2 and 3/4. The o-rings for the T was leaking, which is why I had to tear them down. Thanks though!
