ARGH!!!!  My mechanics are working VERY slowly in the oppressive heat up here.  They are working towards firing it up tonight, and will have it ready for me to pick up tomorrow.  Then I just need to transfer the petcock and lock to the new tank and pop on the sidecovers.  The new Eastwood finished caliper (impervious to brake fluid!) is on the way from the US.  So hopefully that last bit will be on next week.

So, a 24 hour delay - after 6 weeks in the shop, what's another day.

Yeah, and I'm reaaaaaly enjoying waiting for my bike to come home... ARGH!!!  I keep going into my workshop to look at my 100 times polished tank and sidecovers.  At least the POR-15 coating has had 2 weeks to cure  ::)

Update: Tuesday is the day  ;D  Just some final tweaking - it poured rain here today anyhow - I would've ridden in it, but even a 2 minute walk soaked me through, so I'm fine with not having to have had my inaugural ride in that mess.

Pics tomorrow night all going as it should.

Me too  >:(

Long story short - bike is still in the shop - my friendly mechanic is a bit of a perfectionist.  He's insisting on a new set of pilot jets - should be arriving this morning, and I should take the bike home tonight.  I need to sort out exactly what has happened, and will provide a lengthy update.

More importantly, within a couple of hours of my arrival at home, I should have the orange tank/sidecovers on and a couple of other bits.  I'll take some pics and post immediately!!!

Well, some 8 weeks later, I finally got my bike back today!  I rode it home and set immediately upon the task of getting the Sunrise Orange bits on it and a few other bits and pieces.

Amazing that you could pack 8 weeks into one nights postings. I know so little about computers.

To the point, however- is that it? ONE stinky little picture? No sidecover detail? No shimmering clouds reflected off the new tank? No detail of the handstitched seat covered with Corinthian leather?
Couldn't eat for some time from worry and only had the strength for one picture? Man, I applaud your bravery. I was only thinking of myself- I apologize.  Where do we send flowers?
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

Nice one TinTin is right. How did you sneak those other pictures in?  Lovely contraption you have there, however.  I know all that takes a ton of work. Making the end result look simple is the work of an artist.

Not to brag or anything, but the bike isn't the only thing that got restored over the past year.  These two pics were taken in the same spot in my now-rebuilt garage.

This winter I think I'm going to take the bike completely apart  ;D  I'll leave the engine in one piece, but will take it and everything else off the frame.  Get the frame blasted and painted and put it all back together clean and polished.

Nothing better to do over a winter, and a good excuse to insulate my garage and get a heater  :D

Nice bike, one question though. Where did you get your engine kit.
