New Guy from Colorado with a CB550SS
« on: April 05, 2020, 08:47:10 PM »
Hey all! Figured its about time I used my SOHC membership that I signed up for a year ago.  ::)  Name is Franz, long time member of Honda Twins were I have built a couple decent bikes over the last 9 or so years. I'm currently working on a 75 CB550SS project that has been in my possession for longer than I care to admit but I'm finally getting rolling on it. Been posting a bit about it over there figured might share some of the fun here. She's a mess but they all are at some point.

I'll be stealing as much information as I can about this thing. First year model, numbers are kinda low so its worth it to me to bring it back to a running riding status from the hack job cafe attempt that has happened to it. Will probably do a catch up work log post once I pull some stuff of HT.

Pretty sure some of you know me and I know some of you as well.  8)

Any how HOWDEE!

Thanks fellas, I hope it can handle 75 mph, around here that is snails pace in a 65....

I will get to work on that Project log here shortly, have to gather up some more pictures first so I can tell a better story.

Stev-o, hate to say it been a member for at least 8 years this month I think, poor thing has only really been ran maybe 10 miles since I have had possession if it but I will be changing that this year.  :D

Actual speed was 80mph GPS verified.  The speedometer was north of that at least 5mph.
