picked up a TT600,got it running,carbs were clogged etc,has a rebuilt top end 8 years ago but not used much since,need all fluids etc,gonna strip it down and back up again.

not gonna touch the motor,carb got a quick clean only dropped the bowl,replaced the link fuel hose and cleared jets,blew all passages through,now it idles no farting and popping

i thought these had no battery but it has a 12v?i thought these had magneto 6 volt lighting?some kind off xt conversion parts maybe?still needs a bit of going over,gonna get it registered

I have ridden a TT350 that belongs to Ekpent...fabulous amounts of low end grunt...serious field plowing, stump pulling, drag your whole house down the street type grunt.

yeah a mate had one years ago,here me pulling a log for the camp fire on it,i drained the fork oil,had 600ml,i still havent found a workshop manual for it yet,i wanna check the decompressor adjustment/fork oil level etc,if anyone has had one of these or knows tricks and tips for them feel free to let me know,or has a link to a manual etc.

A lot of bikes have a battery to satisfy legal requirements. So some places they need to power light with engine off. Saves from getting rear ended at a light if your engine stalls.

thanks Frank,australia had different "adr" (AUSTRALIAN DESIGN RULES) than the states,i dont think these could be ridden on hi ways over there?this has a factory compliance plate on it,dated 12/87,so any rules up to then only have to be observed,for instance say a 2005 bike the rules would be tougher,like smog control and noise,tyre type etc?i wanna quieten this thing down,its got a white brother muffler,goona drill the rivetts and see if i can repack it?its got a #$%*en piston as an end cap?i havent run it with this out itll bust ya ear drums?

im gonna drill the rivetts out and see if can repack it,ill install screws so it can be repacked,ill see how it sounds and performs with and without it,its pretty short muffler.

well its easter and were not allowed to roam around,normally id be pissed off but i can spend the holiday tinkering with the 600,lotta little things aswell as the normal stuff to do,for example ya gotta remove a hand from the bars to kill the engine,ill shift the kill button to the right i can thumb it then.

made a lotta headway today,flushed forks and new red gaitors,i didnt strip the forks only kero flushed em,then atf flushed em,then filled with aft,ill ride it first then decide on fork oil,atf may be fine for my miserly intentions?i aint 30 years old anymore!

gonna strip n clean the rear end links,these are needle rollers,rear wheel bearings are grindy,no wonder wrong type,this has a metal shield only not proper rubber seal,first creek crossing it woulda gotten wet?

hooked a battery up,all electrics work,one bad earth on an indicator and missing front brake switch,mate had one handy common part on yammys,should be all go for roadworthy once i do rear wheel bearings,shake down run will have to be to my work and back,we aint allowed to roam around,a mate suggested i start a build thread on another forum,i replied it aint really a build,its more of an easter resurrection!

i did a warm oil change on it other day, i did a cold filter change today with a slim tell tale magnet attatched,i plan to do a coupla short hot oil changes once its up and running registered.

the speedo mount was all funky,the trip meter knob rubbed on the bar mount bolt,the cross brace bracket also was fouling on the master cylinder,the master clamp wasnt squared down on the bars!i just used the air die grinder on the cross brace clamp and all good,a lotta guys wouldve just bought this bike and run it as is saying #$%* like "IT #$%*EN FLIES"etc,i like to get the attention to detail down first,after all this is an enduro bike and should be trouble free with minimal maintenance,im guessing this is the first good look at for a coupla decades?

fully cleaned the airbox once removed from the bike,the air filter foam had disintergrated all over the insides with residual filter oil im guessing,what a mess,it might run better again once i install the new motorex foam filter,like i said a lotta guys would just run this bike with no looking or checking #$%*,its #$%*ing 33 years old!and with the decent suspension these got still quite a capable bike amoung the new ones.

new grips and got that kill button over so can be thumbed now,i like the basic grips,never been one for those fussy complicated patterns with four colours and logos in them!

Ha ha, I love the "Easter Resurrection" reference Dave, very good. It looks like a previous owner wasn't real big on attention to detail, so it's good that you are. I'm guessing that half the problem with your switchgear/ergonomics is because someone's installed those fancy pink handlebars, which are wider than stock? I'm glad you replaced the foam filter, I've seen so many bikes/mowers/chainsaws that have been run after sitting for many years, sucking petrified foam filter material into the carbs, and blocking jets etc. Good job.

+1 on old foam filters turning into crumbling dust.Seen those before ! Enjoy your big thumper Dave. I defied the governors order yesterday and picked up a Pandemic Project baby thumper, a 2002 Honda xr200 for 400 bucks from an older gent. Ran when parked quite awhile ago !! Never heard that before

Tore it down already and the carb is really dirty. Hopefully a quick easy overhaul. Eric
