Pretty cool Mike.  That is not what I was expecting to see at 1:13.

That would be Andrew Stroud making the RG500 look ordinary.
Yep, Britten, that's my favourite one of the 10 built.

I don't think it was Andrew BUT the absolute brilliance floored me. What a bike. If you check it out on youtube it lists the rider but that doesn't make it truth. Just happy to share some good stuff with my brothers. I just think that shot is awesome and I hate that word. Stay healthy fellas.
And Simon....I believe they were/are the best 4 cylinder "street" two strokes ever built. Period.

I was at Laguna Seca for the 1979 Superbike races. Kenny Roberts would stand his Yamaha on the rear wheel for nearly the full length of one of the straights; it appeared the aerodynamics were worse with the belly pan facing into the wind, as the 2nd place rider would start catching up before Kenny dropped the front wheel back down, and took off. It was like he was showing off! ;D

I saws Kenny Roberts framed XS 750 flattracker pic, he slanted the motor forward a lot, maybe he was trying to move the weight...cool bike.

XS or TZ Frank? I think they all felt that lining up axles, countershaft and swingarm pivots was the way forward for flat trackers. Engines were positioned to suit.

Mamola was hands down the best wet track rider of his day.

Thanks to your great headwork Mike, I notice my K1's front wheel has been getting rather 'light' again!   Haven't had that refreshing feeling since my first build on it, back in '81.   ....Don't worry. I've taken your advice, and have kept it below 9500 rpm.

Happy belated Easter. Great to hear the bike is together Mark and it sounds like it is running proper. ;)

It was a xs 650 based, probably with a Shell 750 kit.
