Topic: Changing alternator covers on a CB750K2

Hi all,
I have a shiny chrome alternator cover to install on my CB750K2 and was wondering if I need only to remove the old alternator cover OR do I have to remove the gear cover as well to get to the wires to hook up the new alternator cover. Just so I know if I need to find 2 new gaskets or one.

Hey Andy yup gotta take the  gear shift cover also because of the wireing  and be carefull puting it back together that the rubber block seal gets in all the way or you will have an oil mess now if you get discouraged just send that cover to me and I will make room for it lol good luck seven fity four ever Craig in Maine

Thanks Craig, I thought so  Lol you`ll need to get your own cover as this is going to complement my other chrome/polished parts....going for that over-the-top 70s look...all chrome and shiny

Hey Jerry its funny you should ask....I got a message from Ofreen asking the same thing! Seems after the Easy Rider trip I floated the idea of riding down the Rockies - from top of Montana down to New Mexico -the SOHC Wild Rocky Mountain Tour :-) I forget about this but now that Ofreen (Greg) has mentioned it seems like it would be a cool ride to do. Just need to figure out best way (i.e. cheapest) to get bike from Boston to Montana and then think about roads to follow - Ive always wanted to go see Little Big Horn :-)

However wont be Summer 2006 more like Summer 2007 if it happens. This year Im going riding again in Japan (weekends in September) and then Laos/Vietnam for Christmas/New Year (couple of weeks). In the meantime shorter rides planned for this summer - New York state (havent been riding there since my student days in `92) and also more of Northern Vermont and Maine. Who knows maybe even Nova Scotia for the Cabot Highway but its kind of expensive getting there.

Dont worry Ill keep you posted about any future trips in the Rockies :-)
