Help torque converter noise / rattle
« on: June 11, 2020, 04:37:26 am »
Hello, I inherited my dads pride and joy 1976 750a. Runs sweet but has always had bad rattle at idle and seems to have got worse. Looks like could be the damper springs. My question - I’ve looked at the photocopy manual I’ve got and seems to show you can get in to replace via torque converter cover with engine still in frame. Has anyone done this who can get offer some guidance please? Or if you know of any how to articles that would be fab!

Thanks
Graham - UK

The guys in the know about issues like this always suggest a carb sync just to be sure it's not an uneven running engine causing the rattle. For sure on manual trans bikes but I'd assume the A's may also suffer from the same problem.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
If you love it, set it free, if it stays it's probably one of my 750's.

Thanks. All sorted. Springs replaced engine back in and running without the noise now!
