new member intro
« on: June 23, 2020, 06:05:03 PM »
Just stumbled onto a "barn find". 1977 550f sitting under 30 yrs of junk. Factory stock, 1900 miles. Needs tlc. My first new bike was a  66 black bomber.  I bought a K-1 new. Yeah I'm old.  Just finished a 75 sportster after a 75 650 Yamaha.  Having those side by side was a interesting comparo. I will keep you updated on the progress of the 550f Here is the photo after being uncovered

Welcome from Lake Superior,

Once you get all the dust off,  we would be interested in a picture of the bike.

Welcome aboard.... That'll be a fun project to ride when finished. Where was the barn? Las Vegas as your profile shows?
If so, keep an eye out for my old CB750 that I sold there at W Charleston and Rancho in 1983.... Sure have missed that bike. I bought it new, sold at 45,000 miles.

That looks like an amazing find. I don't see any corrosion on the aluminum. So cool.
