Terry, here is the limitation frosty roads and in the end sandy roads to watch out for. Anti ice sand usually removed in April.
7 months from end of March. April-October.
Hottest weather around 30-32C a few days. 2019 got more of that.
It feels better after 100kmh. I have a thinner jacket with ventilation holes and zippers front and back. I need to reduce food to use it again.
Henry Cole in World's greatest motorcycle rides used a mesh jacket with hard covers for elbows and shoulders when riding in south, southeast Australia.
I use flip-helmet that can be opened direct when parked the few days when temp enter 30C area.
I should never ride without protective clothing, helmet, gloves and boots.
Thanks Per, over here in summer the low 30's are very pleasant, when it gets into the mid to high 40's, not so much fun. When I was big and fat I bought a Triumph mesh jacket one day when I was waiting for my Rocket III to be dyno'd, it's really loose now, and probably useless if I go for a slide, but I still wear it on really hot days, as it's not as unpleasant as my 30 year old leather jacket that I normally wear on dry days.
The wet weather gear is great on wet days, as long as it's not hot, otherwise it's like riding in a sauna. Surprisingly this week is going to be mild (low 20's most days) but I'm gonna be too busy cleaning up my mess from a year of bike building and a ton of yard work to take advantage of perfect riding weather, which pisses me off. No matter, as long as I get 20 rides in by December 31st, I'll be happy!
