CB550F ss trip odometer knob, replacement ideas
« on: August 24, 2020, 08:34:00 AM »
Hi folks,

The knob for my trip odometer on my 1976 CD550F supersport apparently fell off and is missing.  I find resetting my odometer after each gas fill a handy way to keep tabs on when I need a refill.

When I go to through the Honda OEM parts diagrams (BikeBandit has a good one) the knob is not shown or listed. The shaft in the bottom of the speedometer has a beveled side and seems to have threads for a set screw.

Anyone have any suggestions for a replacement knob?  The interwebs have a lot to search through, wondering someone has run into this and found a solution.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have a CB550F 77.  My trip knob is missing as well.  The shaft is threaded.  I have looked on and off (mostly off) over the last couple years and I haven't had much luck.  I did run across an EMGO
SKU: 58-43645 that looked like it would fit mine.  Maybe it would yours too.   It's not OEM but for $5 you can make due until an OEM presents itself.

Good Luck

Hey, thanks for the leads.  If I find something I'll post back here.
