sorry guys... even if i wanted to accept it is not in the time frame allotted in the rules  ;)
like i said... wait till i make some needed repairs and get some good video  ;)

what i'm more worried about is which of these two should i vote for...
the 350 blood runs thick in these veins but,
so does the cafe blood.
 :-\
its a good thing we can change our votes up until the poll ends... i'm very indecisive on this one ;D

that brings up a good point... would the contestants prefer to watch the voting tally in real time throughout the voting period?  it is up to the contestants only though, unless both agree to the switch, nothing will be done to change the setup.

heffay, You sir, are a true gentleman and a man of your word. I'm sure we all will be wanting to see your bike after you go through it. You're right about these 2 bikes. They both are very deserving in their own right. Both came from pretty rough beginnings and both are a true credit to their respective owners. While I often favor the smaller fours, I have to give a lot of credit to KC for what he's done to his 750 and that's why I nominated it. In my book KC's too modest and deserves credit for how he's turned his 750 around. For those who may have forgotten, look at the picture that I posted in the nominations for March.

I'm up for showing the vote tally if KC is.
It should make it more interesting and give me something to keep an eye on.

Say WJL,   This is the 1st round for KC's 750. Just thought you ought to know. I can tell you that both are very fine bikes. Both bikes are a credit to their creators. 8)

Thanks for the compliments guys.

That's one fine looking mean green machine. I can only imagine how much works goes into cafing such a sweet ride from almost nothing. It looks really fast. I'd love to see how it feels to ride verses the stock version. I may be leaning toward the dark side. Stock is nice but the cafe's are one of a kind.

Cleaning up the bits and getting a stock bike running right seems so much easier, although its seems we're never done.

Sorry about that...I remember seeing KC's in the Feb thread, but upon second read, he was not nominated.  Still a nice bike though and well worthy of the nomination this month.

What does that say when, so far, only 35 have shown an interest in this months BOTM voting?
I think that it's really a sad time when you can't get any more interest than that. :( Come on
guys, let's get with it and show support.

That's cool, I wonder what's holding up the ones who haven't? ??? I know there are only 2 to chose from, it may have been this slow before but, now that they're showing the % and number of votes cast, it seems like the voting is really dragging.

maybe people would vote more if we got those neat "I voted" stickers.

Or a more reasonable suggestion might be to have each vote count as a post. Just an idea.

I too have voted - as I have for the past bunch of months.

I know this is going to rub some the wrong way... but here goes.

Should there be a maximum number of times a bike is nominated?

So that we see new bikes on the list for BOTM.
Not to take away from the bikes that are nominated.
Lord knows they are far nicer than my own bike.

But, some people might not be voting due to different choices.

I admit I am guilty of not nominating new bikes.
So, you can count this as a worthless reply from a hypocrite.

But, I was just wondering.

here's why the answer is no (at the moment)... the reason you're not seeing new bikes every session is because, wait for it... you nailed it... you didn't nominate any new ones!

my opinion?  i think there only needs to be a limit on how many bikes win per month   ;)

btw, the one main limit we have is that a bike can only win once per year therefore, it should not be nominated again in that year.  (year meaning from one win to the next)

my real opinion?  i don't like that idea very much... just because a bike is nominated doesn't mean that it will get 2nd or accepted.  once it makes it past all those checkpoints i think it is worthy of being in the contest each and every time.

My preference in SOHC’s is a stock machine, so many times a so called café’ butchered machine has won the award…$hit how hard is it to chop as many bits off a bike and paint it all black.
I like to see bike that have been attacked by PO’s and put back to the way they came out of the factory.
Stock bikes and Café’s in a vote suck! It should be two separate votes in separate categories and keep the people who leg hump a particular style in that vote particularly the café’s lovers who seem to admire some black paint and grinder work and far out number the not into this new fad of cafe SOHC's, the site has two groups. IMHO  ;D

Cheers ;)

That really makes the "Cafe Style" bike sound like butchered bikes. Everybody is entitled to their opinion but, why jump on the band wagon and make it sound like bikes have to be Stock and that's it!
Myself, I can appreciate a fully restored bike but, I can also appreciate a "Cafe Style" too. There's usually alot of thought, creativeness and just plain old WORK that goes into them too! So, I guess you're saying that DME's, StevieMac, Aptech, Paulages, Doug, KC, MKramer, "The Great Lumbee", Heffay and numerous others (whose names escape me for the moment) are "Bike Butcher's! Nice, Real Nice! ::)

Most of the members here vote every month in appreciation of if the hard work that each of the nominee's has put into their bikes.  I think we can all appreciate the amount of work is takes to restore, maintain, or even cafe a bike.  We are not idiots.  We each vote for the bike that we think deserves the win. I have voted for both stock and cafe bikes.  It just depends on the competition.
To say that a cafe is just a butchered bike is ignorant.  It takes a great deal of work to bring some of these bikes back to life.  A cafe on the street is better than a stock bike in a junkyard.
