Float height CB350 four
« on: September 19, 2020, 01:07:51 AM »
I read a lot about float heights on these carbs on the forum and the difficulties people have getting to the specified 21mm. Appreciate rebuild kits may differ from stock items driving different settings.
One for the memory banks for those with suspected stuck down floats.
I recently rebuilt my carbs and had flooding on 3 off them after setting the float height to 21 mm
On close inspection I noted the float frame just contacts the brass float valve body and does not fully depress the float valve pin, you need to gently push the float to full travel to see, IE not a stuck float. I had replaced one carbs float with an original part. When measured the float frame on the original float was 2mm the pattern floats were 3mm. A bit of work on the frame with a dremal solved the problem. A clear pipe level check looked good on float bowl fuel level and no leaks. You need the carbs on a bench with good light and manga fine glass to see the problem. (Well i did but that's an age thing)
