78 CB750F peg mounts on CB550k
« on: December 17, 2020, 02:56:35 PM »
Im just getting started on a 75 CB550K project bike. I was recently given a 78 CB750F rolling chassis and have mounted the forks, wheels and swingarm onto the 550. Surprised how well they fit with no mods. While deciding how to mount master cylinder for rear disc I discovered that it looks like the stock 750 side plate type peg mounts will pretty much bolt on with very little mods to the 550 frame and will solve the master cylinder mounting issue. Has anyone here done this and how did it work and look? Seems simple enough.

working on my 550 with the 75 750f rear disk conversion.
never thought to check and see if the 750 rear mount would work.
I know cognito shows their rearset bracket works for the 550 and 750 on their site but not sure the years though.

if you can find them cheap enough it would be good to test it and see.
