My twin front springs both have shocks in the coil centres. The units are adjustable for preload and have adjustable shock valuing. In the rear, I’m sure the two springs are both carrying a significant amount of preloading. Opossing each other this way should offset any tendency to oscillate or “bounce”. It will be an interesting ride....

Thanks! The bike has always been stored indoors, so with a good cleaning and polish, the chrome is excellent. All the engine covers are chromed too. The electrical box turned out well. It’s no longer such a glaring part..... polishing up the front end will make it even better!

Question for those that can remember: what mirror were likely on this bike on 1975? None? I’d like to screw them into the Honda switch housings, so 10mm. Something like Emgo Universal “El Chico”?

I remember a lot of choppers with iron cross mirrors. I will admit cutting down the stem on K0 style acorn mirrors too.

Learned another lesson today..... Checked my new wiring for continuity (before hooking up the battery) and it was all good. Spot checked the original “harness” and found a few issues. Will have to open it up again........ should have checked before taping, shrink wrapping and zip tying it all back up!

Lucky you! My wife rides a newer KLR650 and the black K3. She laughed out loud when she saw the chopper..... “Not in a million years”. I’m OK with that!

This one I meant, often with a clamp that went around bars , and allowed stem to adjust up or down.

There is an ebay seller ibuy.isell that has lots of interesting stuff. They started carrying a lot of one of the newer Asian supplier with decent quality. Way better than Emgo parts imho...2Fast comes to mind...
I have bought some nice repro mirrors from ibuy.isell for a couple of my smaller bikes.

Napoleon mirrors probably are not what you are looking for. I like them not probably not the look for a chopper. Theyarevibration dampened and have good quality mirror that has the antiglare coating.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions!

EBay has been a favourite shopping place for me until recently. The “Global Shipping Program” has become super annoying for international buyers. Often, when US vendors “ship for free” to US buyers, the program can add layers of ++++ costs. They add packaging, handling custom, and brokerage charge in the extreme. Usually adding +35-45% to the price. I now only deal with vendors that will use US Post and only add th actual charge......  probably should have posted this is the “ piss me off section”!

Back on it today, working on the front end. Headstock bearings seem OK, so just pulling in some fresh brake fluid. The carbs need to come off next. They are stained, suggesting the floatbowl gaskets are leaking. They are probably from a Kawasaki KZ1000. They are only supported by the rubber manifolds. I think I can make a small bracket/ brace from the rack to the back bolt on the starter cover.

Anyone recall what intake boots were used for these larger carbs on a CB750?

...on the boots...so of course, not only are they physically bigger carbs, but the spacing is quite different from the stock carbs.  Adapter boots were probably sourced from Sudco and I do not know if new ones are still available.   Also of course, the rubber quality is not as good as oem Honda.  So, if you intend to keep this carb set up long term, I suggest trying to source some new boots now.

Sean......  I think I can see some markings on the intake rubbers. Will inspect more closely when the carbs are off (and treat them with care!).
