1974cb 750 Chain Case Collar
« on: March 17, 2021, 03:37:32 PM »
Does anyone know what a chain case collar is and where it goes on the bike? It's about the diameter of a quarter with a  flange body about half inch long and looks like it would fit inside a rubber grommet.

I'm getting back into my restoration after several years. I bought a bunch of OEM parts years ago and don't know what some of them are.

There are several of those on the 750, but are used to mount the rear metal fender into the plastic forward half fender (2). There are 4 more on the battery box, thru the rubber grommets that isolate it from the frame.

Also some shouldered washers that go through the plastic chainguard (so you can’t over tighten and crack it). Photo would help....

There are six used on the front fender of my K5, and four on the battery box as HM mentioned. The two on the rear fender are oval, 6 x 9 mm opening.

Hello Honda Man! I have your book, resistor pack, electronic ignition and some other stuff from you, plus you rebuilt my swing arm. That was about eight years ago and yes this is the same project. I know, shouldn't have let it sit for so long. Anyway, I'm back at it.

To answer your question, I bought a bunch of new parts like these when I started the project and I'm sure I have every type of chain case collar used on the bike. When it's finished I'm going to have some parts left over because I bought too many.

Really appreciate what you do for the community!
