Is there more than one type of CB750K/F oil pan?
« on: April 11, 2021, 09:42:09 AM »
I know the 750A was a wet sump, and different pan. But is there more than one style of K/F oil pan for the 69-78 years?

They are all functionally the same.  The 77/78f engine has deeper fins.
If it works good, it looks good...

Yeah - this is what I was thinking. Is it only the F or is it 77/78 K that also had the deeper fins?

My k8's PO learned powdercoating on this pan. Not sure if fins are long or short but here's a pic:

Different gasket for the earlier pan in the gasket kits. Maybe K0 only.

If what I’m understanding is right, that is the “longer fin” pan. The fins are present over the round flat spot. The other pans are just flat there - no fins.

That sound right to everyone?

I didn't remember that but after looking at them on eBay I think you're right. 77-78 bikes may all have these from what I see on ebay, and there were a couple of varieties, not all had the fins that curve around bolts like the one I showed.
