Damn, I found a really nice 94 VFR750 for $2000. The problem is I already have 2 bikes in the garage. The problem isn't that I have too many bikes. The problem is that I have too many bikes and I'm married. So, would $2000 be a good price for this?

Well being a fellow VFR nut on here i would say thats about the going price for good condition VFs and VFRs. I bought my 85 VF750 for $1500 last fall and have enjoyed the bike ever since.

You should buy it, you can keep it in my driveway however you will need to leave a key in case a little dust should land on it.

Good bike, good price = buy it!

A friend of mine had one exactly like that one but crashed it on the Autobahn outside Berlin.
We were on a three week vacation through Europe when he planted it in the rear end of a VW Rabbit. Bike was trash but he and his wife came out allright.
I rode a -94 Fireblade at the time and we spent a day on the NürburgRing Nordschleife racetrack before the accident.
The VFR performed great on the track and kept up well with the Blade.
It is truly a multipurpose bike!
I would not compare the VF-series to the VFR. The VFR is a totally different beast and all the better for it !

BUY IT! I just took ownership of a 2005 VFR800 and I LOVE it! As long as the bike isn't trashed it really doesn't matter how many miles are on it. The VFR's engine was made to go 100,000 miles with barely a sneeze. I've been able to put less miles on my CB to preserve it! (I need a new clutch anyway!

Looks like a brand new bike! $2k is about $1-$1.5k less than I'd expect. I've ridden a '99 for years, great bike, buy it!

Thanks! I've been posting on VFR World lately so I'll have to check out your site. The VFR is a great bike Pax. There is nothing I can say towards trying to talk you out of it!

That is an incredible deal for a bike that nice.

For reference, I sold my '92 VFR with almost 50K miles for $3600 a couple years ago.

You could ride that bike for a few years and still make money re-selling it later.

Years ago I bought a new snowmobile, two-up touring, and told the wife I got it for her. Bad choice. Just get it for yourself and explain it's a purpose macine that the other bikes can't fill in for.

The VF was the predicessor to the VFR. Without the VF existing and dominating the race tracks the VFR never would have existed.

I got back after the sun went down, I'll take and post some pics tomorrow. Great, great bike. That vance and hines pipe has a growl like you wouldn't believe.
It was a lady's bike. Real nice, probably 45-ish. Her husband passed away so she didn't have anyone to ride with anymore.

Yes, the VFR is derived from the VF.
But very much improved.
VF-series suffered badly from camshaft wear (pretty much every single machine has had the cams replaced). The VFR engine is pretty much indestructible.
Chassis-wise there is a world of difference when you compare the steel cradle VF-frame to the aluminium twin spar box frame of the VFR.

Man, this is a great little bike. It just clicked over 21k miles this weekend and has been a blast to ride. I've already got a couple of 6-8 hour rides on it and it has been perfect. Great bike and I have to highly recommend this bike to anyone looking for a daily driver. Good power, handling and brakes and yet it's still comfy to ride. I put a double bubble windscreen on it this weekend and it works out perfect for me. Now I just need to find some side bags that I can afford.

LOL, ya, she's been sitting in the garage for a few weeks. She was a little hard to start on Sunday, took me two or three kicks to get it going. Usually it's a one kick deal, the extra kicks must have been in protest.

Andy - If I were you, I'd look around for 90-97 VFR's. The price is right on these bikes (2k-3.5k) and they're going to do everything you need them to. Of course, your 'Busa buddies are going to leave you in a straight line but that goes without say. Look around and you can find a low to mid mileage for what ya want to pay. From what I've been reading, the models with gear driven cams will last well into 100k miles.
