Hello all! Well I started this project back in October, was going to start a build thread back then but never did since I was just keeping it stock. I worked on it so sporadically that I didn't take that many pics and ended up with Covid in December and didn't work on it for about a month.

It was an original owner bike and sat in a shed since 1985, still had registration and inspection papers from the late 70's with the owners manual under the seat. I got around to painting it a couple weeks ago, the tank decals a couple days ago and the first ride today. I went with a little bit darker shade blue with silver metallic and clear instead of candy.

I'm surprised how well it handles, this was my first time on a cb750. Love it! Here are some pics..

Looks exactly like my F0 restoration. Nice work.

I love the blue color, but found that it's almost impossible to match exactly.

Having a problem with my neutral light staying on and just dimming when in gear. Tried putting the original O-ring back on it and same thing. The wire looks great, not pinched anywhere. Changed the Diode. Do the neutral switches go bad on these bikes?

That's interesting. Mine does the same and has for years now. I just ignore it...never really needed a neutral indicator. Too lazy to dive into the F's convoluted wiring again. When I got my bike the wiring was the worst aspect of it and it took me a REALLY long time to get it mostly functioning.

I hear you man, luckily my harness was never hacked up or damaged. I dedicated a whole day on cleaning up every connector and another for hooking it all back up.

Yes they do go bad, both ways. Same as a gl1000 and some honda outboards i believe so still available new, if the light goes out when you disconect the wireat the switch it has to be the switch

Beautiful restoration! Your bike was about the same condition rust/dirt wise as my '76 was before I restored it. It's a very gratifying thing to restore one of these bikes and then be able to ride it knowing what went into getting it back on the road.

Yes, my new neutral switch leaked. The second new one is fine. Easy to change.

Well I am down until an O-ring for my rear master cylinder shows up. I am posting this information for future forum searchers, or if anyone has been through this might have an answer. My parts catalog shows no o-ring for the 1975 f0 rear master cylinder cup, only the f1 and some Goldwings.

I know I have read that some of these came all metal with cup built in, not sure when the switch happened but mine has the nylon cup that presses in with an O-ring in the rear master cylinder body. The part number is 45516-371-003, I have been unable to find it anywhere.

I did find its size is 43.7X2.5. A google search for that size shows a Honda part number 91301-MEL-003 for a CBR1000 cylinder head. Some sites list the size as 44.3x2.5 for the same part number. I ordered 1 from Partzilla listed as the size I need. Will report back how it goes. I think this is the last bug to work out so I can finally put some good miles on her.

Edit: That part number worked perfectly, back on the road! It's weird they re-made such an oddball size o-ring for a totally different purpose that was only used for part of 1975 from what I can tell

Added some better pics to 1st post. I have put about 250 miles on it now. This is one tight running bike. My first couple rides I had to build up a trust with it but I am there now. I am on the hunt now for a parts bike to build up my k4 frame and motor this winter.

Well I am 20 miles away from clicking over the 1000 mile trip meter since rebuild, which will happen this evening. Only issue I have had is leaking fork seals, they were after market seals though. Engine has no oil leaks and still looks like new besides all the bugs I need to clean off.

It's the most fun bike I have owned and the pride of doing the whole bike myself, complete teardown and paint, makes it very special to me.
And thanks to those who voted me bike of the month for July, I know I have only been part of this community for almost a year but this truly is the best one I have been part of.

Thanks man, I just do them as a hobby. I learned long ago its too hard to make money restoring them, this was my first complete restore. I had some luck flipping 1st gen Honda Magnas years ago because I got good at fixing the inherent problems they have like cams/rockers that wear prematurely and dirty carbs that are some of the hardest to remove and reinstall that I have seen. Seems a lot of people leave them for dead at that point.
