Which bike?
« on: April 23, 2005, 06:48:12 PM »
In 1969 my dad traded his "67" Triump Daytona on a "69" Honnda 750. What a bike! I was 14 years old and love taken a ride with him. When I was 16 and got my mc endorsement(taken on the neighbors 160 dream) dad wreck on the way home from work and nearly killed himself. After healing up he turned the wrecked 750 into a hard tail chopper and riding it around town and to school was a great thrill in my life. Know that I am in my late 40's I relive that memory every time I start my 750. It's not a "69" but it a sohc. Here's a picture of my brother in law's and mine.

well..a larger photo of my avatar...those are NOS pipes on her, stock seat...still have all the extraneous chrome doodads
to put on her (new turn signal cups, stalks, and lenses, headlight rim, clock cups, front fender....) and give her a good
cleaning to get some of the cruft off...as well as clean up the cases, replace the dinged alternator cover, etc.

It never ends, do it?

I have a 400F & 550F with pix in the gallery.  Also have the bone stock '82 Nighthawk I bought new.  ($1695.00--those were the days.)  I register a different one each year--currently riding the 400F.

Technically I don't ride any of them NOW. I got rid of the 350 in '78, the 750 was totaled in '91 and I just bought the 550 and don't have it running yet. ... but I will. Whee.

Need more votes you guys.

This is more of a statistical exercise than a "gathering of comments".

Please continue to post pictures in the Gallery.

Cheers

'79 CB650. It's the only bike I could find in my price range when I was shopping, so I just fell into ownership, rather than having some long, researching, pre-purchase love affair. After 5,000km in six weeks I admit that I'm smitten!
