Finally took the time and went through this thread. Been meaning to do it, but I’ve been battling a mongrel disease that has me a bit down.

Although I enjoyed the tale of this Suzuki, it triggered some bad memories. Decades ago (early 80s) when I was still riding my 72 Bonneville, a friend acquired an abused T500 Titan.  It was beat to hell and gone and didn’t look much better than this 350 when you started, but ran like stink.  I laughed at the thing when he picked it up, but quickly discovered what two-stroke exhaust smelled like on the road. My Bonneville didn’t have a chance. I have hated the things ever since!

Sorry to hear of your health problems mate, look after yourself, I was saddened to see that Frank (754) died yesterday(?) as while he had chronic injuries like me, I didn't know that he was otherwise unwell, and I suspected that he might have copped Covid, but it turns out that he fell off his bicycle and fractured his skull. Very sad.

Have you seen my T500 thread? My 1974 T500 is almost done, it's a runner and I've ridden it after a complete ground up rebuild, but have just discovered that a damaged kickstarter gear was probably what put it off the road, back in the day. The engine will be coming out to install the new parts, but, unlike CB750 engines, a full strip and rebuild on a T500 is a snack. Check it out here: ;D

I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Just found this cartoon, I'm not sure if it looks like a 350 or a 500, but it is green.

Thanks Alan, I’m pretty sure thats a Kawasaki triple in “Kawasaki Green”. Bill, no progress report, I must finish it this year, I did ride it around the block a few weeks ago, but was busy with the Z1-B at the time, so parked it again. Too many bikes, not enough time. ;D

It took a pretty good rider to get them up on the back wheel and keep them there Dave. Back in 1975 or '76 my mate "Ocker"s older brother Charlie was keen to buy a Kawasaki H2 750 that had been heavily modified and was painted black, with chrome expansion chambers. The owner wouldn't let him ride it, but to demonstrate it's ability he took Charlie on the back.

They went past my place and saw me and Ocker, so Corrie, the owner, hoisted the front wheel and they went past us on the back wheel at probably 60 MPH? Corrie was a very good rider, I don't know if I could do that? And yes, Charlie bought the bike. ;D

We have a member here, “Kghost” who makes it look easy, someone posted a pic of him wheelie-ing a CB750 a few years ago, it’s probably lost in time now, but I was pretty impressed at the time. A good rider can wheelie just about anything. ;D

Hows this? Not sure if that’s Tim, but looks like a CB750? Instructions in user manual, probably. ;D

the front wheel of the vmax has seen fresh air underneath itself a few times, which is amazing given its ( and my ) bulk but 125rwhp helps, the best one i did got me into 3rd gear before the wheel went down to show an indicated 140kmh ( 85mph ish) in a 60kmh zone...oops. The car driver that had indicated his willingness to give it a go at the last lights found other things to look at when he eventually caught up to me at the next lights
i blame Terry

yeah, if you know what you are doing, you should be able to clutch up just about anything...well, maybe not you 18 tooth front sprocket boys.  My F2 with some mild mods could lift the front going into second if you shifted just right.  Not like Terry's pic though, just kinda floatin the wheel 2-4 inches over the pavement.  If you have ever drag raced a motorcycle, you for sure know that the cb750 CAN pick up the front.  Makes me kind of scared to take something like my GS1100 to the track.
If it works good, it looks good...

Wheelies is an acquired skill with the bike you ride all the time;new clutch plates and stock exhaust/airbox for mid-range rpm 'lift' helps a bit also  :D if you can keep it up all the way through to the end of 2nd then float it down easy into 3rd  ::)
My 73' RD350A was easy for them,plus being 17 and 160 lbs  ;D
