Electronic Ignition
« on: June 18, 2021, 02:53:13 PM »
All my cb750’s are still on original points/condensers and I’m OK with that. The guy that just bought my K4 is not convinced..... Years ago, I bought a simple system on EBay that was just a replacement plate. I think it needed a power lead and the hook up to the coils wires? It was inexpensive and a “test”. Worked well, still used the stock advancer mech.

No other changes needed. No coils, wires, plugs etc. I sold the bike. Any recommendations for him?

Sounds like you had a Dyna S or one of the knock-offs. Dyna S is probably the most commonly used electronic ignition conversion kit.  It doesn't like low voltage, so I always put it on a relay
