Not sure if still available from Honda??

Who else's kit have you used successfully?

Where did I see a new replacement starting clutch gear? Yamiya? Someone has one out there in aftermarket land??

Only the small stuff with springs. I think I bought my not yet used set from eBay Germany or DSS UK.

Yamiya add a washer too

They have also the gears and stronger motor too. DOHC CB900 motor with 800W/0.8kW marking might not be  that common on eBay.

Good looking CB750 starter gear available on eBay for less.

I've seen YouTube videos where some sportbike's starter clutch was adapted to the early DOHC Honda fours, I wonder if that'll work for SOHC?

Edit: added video.

Don't need a starter. My stock starters work great in both the 915 and the 1000. Just looking for starter clutch rebuild kit.

I do need to look at Yamiya.

OUCH!!! That starter clutch gear is pricey  :o

I just ordered a refurb kit from CycleX which includes the starter gear, rollers, springs, and seal. Advised to reuse the spring caps.

Wow, I hadn’t seen that offering before… and for a reasonable amount.

Hey Jerry, I did try refurbishing the starter gear hub a while back, and set it to CBJoe to test it. IIRC it worked for a short while, then began acting up, so he replaced it with a used one from Bill B(?), which also worked for a short time. When you get the gear, please measure the hub; IIRC I had to reduce the diameter by about .012" to clean up the surface.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!
