  • I love to restore & travel. Keep'em Going Strong !
I like small Japanese bikes and sometimes need aftermarket parts for them.I'm presently looking for a company that may have a pair of stronger aftermarket front fork springs for my 81' CB125S.The springs go inside the forks with the oil. They measure 17mm OD x 457mm(18") in length. There are many small vintage dirt bikes that use the 27mm OD fork stanchions which I'm thinking may fit.. The CG125 Honda was sold all over the World except here in the States and it has the size(27mm OD)forks that my CB model has and the springs should work. This size bike wasn't made for someone as heavy as me but I still enjoy it and it fits into my life quite well.I've already added spacers to pump-up the stock springs but they're just too soft.
I realize I'm looking for 'a needle in a haystack' when it comes to stronger, aftermarket springs to fit my 81'(1979-82' is the same part)CB125S that's why I'm open to other bikes with 27mm OD fork tubes where I might find a pair of aftermarket fork springs which measure the coils of no more than 17.25mm in O.D. to carry someone about 230lbs.
I can also have the springs cut-off if they're too long.

I would try Racetech first...just tell them what you have and what you want.

I called today, they said the smallest fork springs they carry measure 29.5mm O.D. across the coils.
I left a message for IKON in Bedford,PA. today and hope to hear from them otherwise I'll call them before 12:30PM PST.

Here's the list of 27mm forks from 'the BIG LIST of axle diameters etc' was tough to copy & paste so I took a screenshot.

I imagine there is a way to order new springs that're stronger for my needs somewhere on the net,if I only had the name of a website.. a tall order just to find them.I think they would need to be shipped to me halfway across the globe and by the time that happened it could be another few months  ::)
This man up in WA. state is a suspension expert who has had many other springs custom made to his specs before;I think it'll be worth the $200 just to get them from him.I was fortunate to find him.

Hope you find a reputable supplier.
All I can say about this is I WOULD’NT BUY ANOTHER THING FROM HONDAPARTSNATION out of Kalamazoo MI.
They got my money, said parts were on their way. Two weeks beyond the “delivery” window, nothing. Answer machines, ring ring ring off the hook. I requested a refund on their voice mail. Ended up filing a complaint with the BBB. Haven’t heard anything and haven’t received a credit.
Sorry- this post should be in the “What pisses me off” category.

Mr. Mike, you make me ashamed to be a resident of Kalamazoo, but you are absolutely correct.  I have given up buying things from them as well.  All that is, is the parts dept. of the local Mega Motorsports Dealership trying to create a monopoly of the local motorsports market.  I wish I could give you a solution.  But unfortunately the entire staff consists of the most brain dead douche bags.  None of them ride motorcycles of any kind and they are all the most disgusting examples of non-human life.
If it works good, it looks good...

I gave up on my local dealer years ago.  Went in there asking for a part and they were too lazy to look it up, said I had to have the part number!  Lesson learned and never went back.

Did you use a credit card to make the purchase? If yes, dispute the charge.

I've had my share of 'dealerships' who take $ but don't help.
I have plenty of good things to say about a Honda/Suzuki Dealer up in Everett,WA. Everett Powersports. The man in parts,John was the one who knew about his local suspension guru who's wrenched in racing for years and owns his own suspension shop: MotoPro Suspension.com,his shop is in Woodinville,WA. He even does work on shocks to lower the suspension so riders that are vertically challenged can ride in comfort.
The parts men at Everett have cared quite a bit when I call,so I keep calling back  :)

We've bought a lot of stuff through Everett Powersports. Always had great service and they've helped us out with some hard to find parts.
