Hello from Sunny (currently cold) Tampa, Florida
« on: January 15, 2022, 08:32:13 AM »
I have to admit I haven't been in a forum since 2008 - and I failed miserably at adding myself to the map and creating a new gallery per the newbie instructions. I never thought that at 43 I'd already be technologically challenged  ::)

Anyhow - here I am. my SOHC is a 1972 CB500f that I've been building for about 5 years.  I got her mostly intact but with a lot of parts in boxes, and she hadn't been registered since 1983. I've made quite a few changes - tank, exhaust, seat, wheels, etc. There was a lot of fab work and custom touches that I just love.

I have a few progress photos attached to show the transition. There's a few more things I have to work out (not super happy with the seat pad, for instance) before she's ready but we're in the home stretch and I'm super excited about it!

Welcome.
You may wish to check your rear hoop and rear tire for interference, if the rear tire hits the underside very bad things will happen to you when that occurs...

Hello from Minnesota,

When you take a ride below freezing, that is when you know how good your kit is.

Hello! I've ridden the bike around and there's no issue with the tire and seat, so we're all good there.

I like how the 200T tank looks on there and the Comstar wheels:are the wheels from a 400?

Hello Hills2Horizons and welcome to the forums.

I don’t know if you are a football fan, but I’m a bit disappointed,
we won’t be seeing Brady airmailing the Lombardi trophy this year.

Welcome from cool and rainy Texas.

You're doing better than most here, posted pics on your first post!  Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty simple.

Your bike looks great! Is it done?

Is that true for full compression if you hit a big bump or pothole? If not, you have a problem waiting to throw you off the bike...or wreck badly...

I was definitely sad to see him go - it was nice to win for a while!!

Hello! Thank you - I'm used to car forums so it's pretty routine  ;D

No, it isn't done. In fact it got put on the back burner while I went through a separation and starting over in my life, but now I'm putting everything back together with the goal of getting it completed in the next few weeks. I'm so excited!

Thank you!

Nothing as cool as any of that! My first project was the Civic back in the mid 2000s, then the Jetta, then the Mazda and then the Mustang. I don't have any project cars right now and probably won't again - it's draining and thankless work  ;D
