1976 CB 550 Gauges
« on: January 31, 2022, 10:04:56 AM »
Hello Group,
My 550 has a faded red line zone (like all of them do). The gauges are otherwise fine. I got some reproduction plate faces but they are not great quality and when you compare them to the original you can tell immediately. I like originality on my bikes. Do you know of any shop that could repaint or apply a decal of the correct red color just to the red zone of the tach?
Thank you

i had mine repainted by www.cb750faces.com which turned out really well.
he's in the netherlands and so am i, but if you're in the US you may be better off finding someone more local because of the shipping cost.

since you mentioned originality.....cb750gauges reproduction faceplates have subtle differences from original.
the texture is grainy, spacing between the letters of "nippon seiki japan" is shorter, and they're made of a white plastic instead of green, which makes a big difference at night with backlighting...

    hardly noticeable....just not exactly original......fyi...
