« on: February 20, 2022, 05:01:12 AM »
Hi,

Im replacing the seat on my CB750 K0. The build date is 17th January 1970. Should I be using the red or white seat foam?

I assume you have an original duck tail seat or pan ? Thinks they used mostly red in those.

Build date or date of UK registration? That early a diecast would have had a red foam seat..

Yes, duck tail seat and 17/1/70 was the date the bike left the factory in Japan. Thanks

I bought the bike with a letter from Honda confirming the date. I believe its from when an age related number plate was issued as it was an American import.

Amazing that you know the actual day/ date of manufacture. I didn't think there was any way of knowing that info. 😊😊😊

Where are you sourcing the foam?  I've got an August 71 seat to re-do.

I'm not seeing red seat foam anywhere. I think some guys have used a white foam and stuffed pieces of old red foam into the seat pan holes from the bottom.
I left a message for Yamiya they show no red foam or seats with red foam.
