The twilight zone
« on: March 23, 2022, 08:54:02 AM »
You unlock this door with the key of imagination.
Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind.
You’re moving into a land of reality and imagination, of things that are real and things that are imagined.
You’ve just crossed over into the knucklehead zone.

I suppose I should give an explanation after that.
It was the summer of 95 or so when a friend pulled into my driveway on a 46 Indian chief without any warning.
I had seen photos in magazines so I knew what it was but had never seen one.
I took a close look, wow this thing is primitive.
Do you want to try it ?
Sure, how does it work ?
The gear shift is on the left side of the gas tank (there are no stops or markers, you have to know where the gears are).
The clutch is operated by your left foot.
There is more to this story and more stories after that.

Fun stuff. I have a friend that has a 46 Chief. It's a nice one. Also, a four cylinder model, that he rarely rides. It had a window in the crankcase when he got it and bought new repro cases. Instead he had the old ones repaired. You can't tell now.
He had a friends father in law rebuild an Indian engine. He got it rebuilt but the guy stole all of the original exterior bolts. Just another thing to worry about.

You might need to come to Davenport Ia. next Labor Day week. They have it all.

He should ask for his bolts.

He did ask for his bolts, talked to the son in law, talked to the popo, made a thinly veiled threat. I don't think it ever got resolved. He needed proof it was delivered with correct bolts, didn't have it.
