Woooo! Yesterday I installed a new clutch cable and new throttle cables. The throttle has some play in it that I can't seem to adjust out - but its not terrible. Makes a HUGE difference while driving. We're getting closer!
Just a FYI on the throttle cables, it looks like you have them routed wrong. Do the throttle cables bind in any position when you slowly swing the bars back and forth from lock to lock? There shouldn't be any binding. I just installed a set of those bars and the short cable set from 4into1 on my K5.
It looks like you have them on the right side of the frame, the vin plate side of the neck? If so, they should go around the other side of the steering neck, on the left side of the frame, then in through the triangle behind the coils to the carb pulley. This is the way Honda originally routed the throttle cables. I'll try to get to my shop tonight after work and get some pictures.
Here is a link with a picture of the stock throttle cable routing(I downloaded the picture and attached it here, 2nd picture)
http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php/topic,20697.0.htmlI've had a problem with the 4into1 short throttle cables on the pull cable with the adjuster locking nuts at the carb pulley being slopy loose to the threads of the barrel that when I tightened the nuts to lock it in place the second nut jumps the threads and won't tighten the cable. They sent me a replacement cable but it has the same problem of poor quality control in their manufacturing. I got it to lock somewhat by moving the second nut further backon the barrel to tighten it there and take up the slack up on the bar end of the cable. We'll see if it holds up with time but I'm not holding my breath......
